The questions everyone asks before they book

Do I have to fully undress?
No. You stay in your underwear for the scan. The whole point of the 3D scanner is that you do not have to strip down in front of anyone. It is the reason most of our patients finally booked.
I feel fine. Do I really need a scan?
Most people we find something on felt fine too. A scan is not for when you are worried about a specific spot. It is for building a baseline now, so if anything changes later, it is caught while it is still simple.
Is not skin cancer the easy cancer?
Most of the time, yes, when it is caught early. That is the whole reason for a scan. It is only complicated when it is left to grow without anyone watching it.
What if you find something?
If something needs a closer look or a procedure, we can do most of it on the spot or book you in quickly. We do the procedures, so you are not sent off to wait weeks for a specialist. That is the premium-economy difference.
Do I need a referral from my GP?

How long does the appointment take?
Allow about 40 minutes in total, including 15 minutes going through your results with the doctor and answering your questions.
What should I wear?
Wear something you are comfortable in. You will stay in your underwear during the scan, so avoid anything that makes that awkward. No special preparation needed.
Do I need a referral?
No. You can book directly with us online or by phone. If you would like your GP involved afterwards, we can provide a report.
Will it hurt?
No. The scan is non-invasive imaging, similar to being photographed. Nothing touches or marks your skin during the scan.
What happens to my scan afterwards?
It is kept securely as your baseline record. If you come back for future checks, we compare against it, so we are looking for change, not starting from scratch.
Do you do the procedures if something needs removing?
Yes. Most minor procedures can be done on the spot or booked in quickly at our clinic. That is the difference between us and a scan-only service that sends you elsewhere.
